Remarks | This was different than other meteor showers I have experienced where I'm intentionally looking up at the sky from outside. In this case I was at home, indoors, staying up late working on something when suddenly I saw a bright flash above the top of the window shade. We have window shades that can either be raised from the bottom or lowered from the top and I saw the bright flash in about a foot-and-a-half total space. For this reason I cannot determine the angle or the direction whatever it was was moving at or from. After going through this questionnaire, it seems that what I saw was a terminal flash which makes me wonder if the metallic sound I heard directly afterwards was a piece of debris hitting something in the front yard like a vehicle. |
