It actual started much higher. The flashed attracted my attention as it passed Pollux and then descended into Canis Minor. It lasted long enough for me to get the attention of a few others to view it. As an amateur astronomer I have witnessed may of these but this was the most colorful I can remember.

Fragmentation stayed immediately behind with small particles. None trailed off from meteor. Was very surprised that there was no trail visible after the event.
