Remarks | This meteor was clearly visible, near the horizon, against the sky glow of Boston. It went straight down. My estimates of the angle above the horizon may be bogus, but the angle was quite low. It's been an hour, but I remember there was a very bright star, or maybe a planet, a bit further north, and significantly higher. The seeing was bad enough that very few stars were visible except at higher "altitudes?", like 40 degrees?? My real name is Lincoln Ross, but I don't want it public in this context, because the park is officially off limits after 7! As far as I know, there are not many Lincoln R's in this town. according to Google Maps and Google Earth I was at: 42°23'05.6"N 71°15'17.3"W elevation about 430 feet above sea level, southern peak of Prospect Hill Waltham |
