| Remarks | Certainly glad to have been driving right when this hit! Because I was in a car, I didn't notice it until it was more or less straight overhead because at that point the light was so bright the sky above me became light. My impression, which I know is probably deceptive, is that it was RIGHT above me and continued just slightly east of due north more or less directly center in front of me as I faced due north. |

| Remarks | My first reaction was that a plane was landing right in my town. Perhaps I'm only putting plane like sounds in my memory because of that impression. But the bang I can be more sure of because I distinctly thought "Oh it's a supersonic plane too!" for a split second before realizing what I was really seeing. So faint booms like distant gunfire, obviously not as loud as an actual supersonic jet overhead would be. |
