Remarks | My wife and I saw the meteor as we drove north on a dark section of Hwy 293. It travelled at what appeared to be a very high rate of speed, very white, only a small trail of light, maybe 2-3 times the diameter of the fireball. It appeared to have a tumbling motion, maybe moving side to side a little as it passed through the atmosphere. We watched it for 4-5 seconds before it passed behind a line of trees. It appeared to slow slightly, probably an optical illusion, as it was covered a long distance. The time observed (9:20) is approximate. |
